Frodo Gets His Cracker | Brokenwood | "An Oades to Christmas" | Mystery Maniacs Mini-episode 33
Hey, maniacs.
Mark:Hey, mystery maniacs. What an episode.
Sarah:Welcome to another spoiler free mini episode for season eleven of Brokenwood Mysteries. This time, episode six, an odes to Christmas.
Mark:Boy, is this a doozy?
Sarah:We get to see so much of the odes family, and you can still count their brain cells on one hand.
Mark:All of the odes are there. All of the odes that we know of.
Sarah:No. Only the male odes. Yes. There's only men in the odes family. The women are smart enough to run off, I think.
Sarah:Not only do we get the whole odes family, we get to meet Kristen's sister Nikki for the first time.
Mark:And it explains everything.
Sarah:We get to learn what a Christian haiku Jew is.
Mark:We do indeed get to learn that.
Sarah:And it's the first case of scrotal electrocution in Brokenwood.
Mark:As far as we know.
Sarah:As far as we know. But we've got some fun ways for you to watch it like a maniac.
Mark:The this episode is the height of comedic detective story.
Sarah:It is by far one of the funniest episodes of Brokenwood.
Mark:And yet, there is an incredibly touching important part in the middle with Trudy. Yep. That is not comedy, not played for comedy. Nope. Is done correctly.
Sarah:Yep. Absolutely. It's just all around good episode. Yes. It's Christmas y without being too Christmas y.
Sarah:Yeah. Because, well, it's the height of summer.
Mark:Well, the important thing to me about the Christmas episode is that Frodo got its cracker.
Sarah:Are you ready for how to watch this episode like a maniac?
Mark:Yes. So this is once again spoiler free. We are just, there's some things in this episode that we made us go, what is that?
Sarah:Yeah. What is that supposed to be? What does that mean? Are you ready? Yes.
Sarah:We have five ways, five things to look for, five things to figure out, and I will tell you that at least two of them, even we don't have the answer I
Mark:have no idea. Okay.
Sarah:Number one, what is in Dennis Buchanan's front seat?
Mark:First of all, Dennis Buchanan played by Shane Cortese is at the top of his game in this episode.
Sarah:I think everybody is. Yep. Okay. What's in his front seat though?
Mark:What is in his front seat?
Sarah:Number two, which Brokenwood Officer has the most boring job?
Mark:We were like Wow. That's a boring job. That's gotta be boring.
Sarah:Yep. Number three, what's the power on the Tompkins' porch? There's a lot to look at in their
Mark:house. There is a lot to look at.
Sarah:But what's the power on their porch?
Mark:Yep. But what is the power in their porch?
Sarah:Number four, what's the box on the front of Sims's house? We spend a lot of time in Sims's house.
Mark:Spend an enormous amount of
Sarah:time Some of it very uncomfortable. What's on the front of her house?
Mark:All I gotta do like, Sims, I'll buy you a new kimono. Yep. K? We'll get you a new one. Get her a new one.
Sarah:And number five, what's the animal in front of the cop shop, and what does it mean?
Mark:We didn't get the second part of this answer till today.
Sarah:Yeah. Yeah. So what's the animal in front of the cop shop, and what does it mean? Yep. Answer those five questions, and you will have truly watched it like a maniac.
Mark:Absolutely. So this ends season number 11. I they have they're firing on all cylinders. I cannot wait for a season twelve. Agreed.
Mark:I think it will be fantastic, and I can't wait until we cover these episodes, which will be, like, 20 more. Like, it'll be it'll be more than half a year from now. Plus, by that time, midsummers Midsummers. Midsummers will hit.
Sarah:Yeah. And we'll have to cover
